Now who could these people be? I’ve never heard of them before… Just kidding! My parents met in college and eloped immediately after graduation. The most remarkable thing about my parents is how completely normal they are. Where the rest of our family has some kind of bizarre or storied past, our particular branch of the tree is not that interesting.

They settled in Mandan, North Dakota and had three kids, Mike, Susie, and me, Marie Maxter! I often joke with my brother that the only remarkable thing about our family is that the two of us have really palindromic names that just roll off the tongue.
